“The picture on the right is me 14kg lighter a year after starting B.B. and may just represent a purely physical transformation on the surface but these pictures represent so much more than that for me. Starting B.B. I was at my heaviest weight I had no self-esteem and was at a really challenging point in my life emotionally and mentally.

 For me, exercise had always been to pick apart different areas of my body I saw as flaws or to compare myself to everyone else that I thought had it all. This way of thinking held me back from exercising and made my goals seem unreachable.

When starting B.B. I was under the impression it would be the exact same but it couldn’t be further from the truth. Within the first month, I started not to necessarily notice the rapid changes happening to my body as my focus switched from being an appearance based goal to a strength based goal or how I could get stronger like all of the powerful girls I trained beside. Slowly but surely the mental strength and clarity followed as well as the formation of a more positive mindset

B.B. has taught me exercise and working out doesn’t have to be a chore or something you dread it is there to give you a stronger sense of empowerment in your own skin and mental stability and strength to constantly want to challenge yourself. 

For me, these photos represent two different people, besides the physical difference I not only feel strong on the outside but I do on the inside to and finally feel content in my own skin. I’m no longer looking somewhere else for gratification and self approval or using someone else as my goal.

I now have the knowledge that the combination of both mental and physical strength means that anything I want to achieve is already within my capabilities. I’m now the fittest I’ve ever been mentally, emotionally and physically.
